apparently one of them went a step further and painted over a massive Pulse remembrance mural in Mills/50 that has been there for 6+ years. Mills/50 is an area of Orlando near downtown that’s super old and busy, it’s Little Saigon, it’s a bit of a gayborhood. just a place everyone knows well. Pulse isn’t exactly adjacent but near enough and the community definitely loved it.

at least we still have the nearby giant mural of Freddie Mercury.

well. okay. looked it up.

turns out some dude bought the building in 2019 and (supposedly) was never told what the mural was about. he thought it was an old advertisement for the former store at that location.

that doesn’t exactly add up for me, though. if he bought it, had a graffiti problem for so long, and thought he was advertising someone else’s business for 4+ years, why wouldn’t he have covered it up earlier?
